Online betting diary – October 2014

October 2014

29th October, 11am

We decided against placing a bet last weekend after a couple of peculiar results the week before. In a season so far punctuated by International weeks, it’s seeming a little difficult to get any decent form in the book. The exception to that is perhaps Chelsea, who look like steamrollering their way to the title. At the current rate they’ll have it sewn up not long after Christmas! But given their form, there’s little value in the betting, and in fact, we have Man Utd to thank that there aren’t even further clear, following the late United equaliser in their 1-1 draw last week.

Stay tuned into November and we’ll get the betting back on track once the Internationals are done and dusted.

15th October, 12pm

So another 6 points on the European Championship qualifying board for England. After an easy win against San Marino they laboured a little against a stubborn Estonia rear guard, finally breaking the deadlock with a well stuck Rooney free kick. Points are what matter though, and England are now very well placed in their group, especially after other results went their way during this round of fixtures. Next up in November England host Slovenia, and a victory there could see them 6 points clear of the field.

The Premier League is back this coming week and we’ll be analysing the teams and reporting on the action. Check back soon and we’ll strike a bet or two.

4th October, 3pm

We’re pleased to report a winner in the bet last month, picking out the Man City v Chelsea game as a draw. If we’d been a little braver we’d have had an even better bet, having suggested that 0-0 or 1-1 was a likely outcome. The 1-1 result could have been had at around 6/1, but we’re still entirely satisfied to pick out the draw at 3.5, a decent return on our tenner investment.

We’re into the International break again shortly, but when the Premier League returns we’ll be having another bet, stay tuned!
